>> Wednesday, December 26, 2012
What are your New Year's resolutions? I think sometimes if I write them down (or type them on a public blog :) I feel more accountable and take these goals more seriously, so thanks for listening. I wish each of you a wonderful, safe and happy 2013 and I am excited to continue this blogging journey with each of you. Thank you for making this another successful year for Deals to Meals & for spending time reading and sharing on our blog. We sure appreciate each of you!!
Now..on to a new favorite appetizer recipe that is cheesy, a little spicy, creamy and plain yummy on anything from chips to bread. It makes for the perfect dip you can throw together a head of time, warm up in the oven right before serving, and serve to your family friends at your New Year's parties this weekend. Enjoy ;)
Spicy Sausage Dip
1 lb. spicy hot pork sausage
1 medium onion, diced
2-3 T. sliced green onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tomatoes, diced
1 c. monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 c. colby jack cheese, shredded
1/2 t. red pepper flakes
2 T. Franks hot sauce
1 can diced green chiles
1 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper
In a large skillet, saute the pork sausage with the onion, garlic and seasonings. Saute until the pork is broken up and browned. Drain any excess grease that their might be in the pan and then add the remaining ingredients to the pan. Stir on low heat for 2-3 minutes and then place in a baking dish (9x13, 8x8, round, etc.). Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and the dip is hot all the way through. Serve warm with tortilla chips, pieces of white bread, crackers, etc.

Hi Shandra! As always, I love the blog. Just a quick question about price matching. Which Walmart do you price match at? What stores do they allow you to price match? I have found our local Walmart has recently become more stingy on what stores they will price match from.
Thanks! I usually shop at the Walmart on 9800 S. and Bangerter or the one in Riverton. They will usually price match every store on our Utah Deals to Meals page except for Ridleys, Lee's and Lin's. All of the other ones they don't seem to have a problem with. It does however depend which cashier I get. Every now and then I will get one that has 'new' rules and seems to like to make things difficult. Usually if a manager comes over they seem to not be quite so uptight and let me price match all of the other stores. Sometimes they do have a problem with Buy Low, however, Rancho Market's ads are generally just as good so I am fine just price matching their produce prices instead.
I hope that helps. Good luck to you :)
